Curses! Foiled again!

So I was all set to pack up and move to Tibet, and then we got some Chinese takeout for dinner, and guess what my fortune cookie said? “It is better to get something done late than never.” Seriously! Is that a sign, or what? That, my friend, is a sign. Clearly I am destined to stay here and finish my M.A.

Also, Glen didn’t want to move to Tibet. Spoilsport.

No way! Really? No way! Meeting tomorrow. Dang it. Not ready. Do I really have to go. Maybe I'll just drop off the bagels. They have just about as much to say about my t as I do.

I know ... at 9 a.m., no less. I'm bringing Peach with me, so if I feel a need to bolt I'll have an excuse. So embarrassing to show up after, what, a month and a half? and still have nothing new to say.

Dude, here's another secret: when that dreaded meeting happens again, as it will do sometime in the next few months... blag it! Take along one interesting thing you've learned from that one book you've read so far that actually had something to do with your thesis, and turn it into a phenomenological or performative discussion on the relevance to that particular line in that third chapter in this other book you are reading that is an actual primary text... You'll come out feeling great, cause your committee chair will say, "It looks as though you've really accomplished a lot since the last time we met."

...oh, remember that night... and if my memory is still working, my fortunes contradicted each other...
