stuff in my yard

Q: Why is my yard like the biblical Garden of Eden?
A: Because stuff grows there without me having to plant it.

Tulips everywhere. We had no idea.

OK, the apple tree wasn't as much of a surprise. We did sort of notice that when we moved in.

ooooh, purty... We have some fun things starting to come up in our back garden as well. No apple trees, unfortunately. But you want to know something really cool... my cousins in Provo have an apple tree in their back garden, with a bee's nest in it. Now, maybe that doesn't sound cool, but it is, because if you know what you're looking for, you can smell the apple-blossom honey when you're outside. It's really lovely.

That is cool. I don't think we have a nest, but we have tons of bees because the tree is in bloom - when you get close to it, it sounds like it's got high voltage electricity running through it because of all the buzzing.

you get random tulips; i get random digging men. life just ain't fair.

@ nicole: well, sure, the flowers are probably prettier than the digging guys - although I haven't seen the actual guys, so I can't say for sure - but the digging guys are a lot more mysterious than tulips. And really, as a writer, which would you rather have, mystery or flowers?

raise your hand if you're sick of the yard (cool though it was a MONTH ago) and want to read a new post...

ooh, ooh, me!
